Weathering and Erosion

Watch the video below to learn more about weathering and erosion.

Weathering

The break down of rock and the land around you.  The breaking down of these rocks and land due to forces such as wind and water is weathering.

Wind, water, and plants weather rock.

  • The weathering breaks rock into smaller and smaller pieces over a long time

  • These pieces become pebbles and sand

  • Small pieces of rock along with material from living things make up soil
